MOUNTAIN RANGE CHŘIBY
creates an imaginary boundary between the northern plain of Haná and the southern plains of Moravian Slovakia region. Chřiby is a very interesting area in terms of both natural and historical. We can find here very valuable landscaping sites, romantic forest nooks, cliffs, wells, streams, deep valleys and places with far-reaching views.
Cycling, horse riding or walking trips to historical sights, natural sights and rock massifs can be enjoyed in the modest terrain.

Buchlov
The dominant feature of Chřiby is the castle Buchlov, whose towers rise on the narrow rocky ridge of the hill above Buchlovice at an altitude of 509 meters. It was founded by the Czech king in the first half of the 13th century as a strategically defensive fortress and administrative centre with jurisdiction and hunting privilege. Several guided tours including children’s trails are available to visitors.
On the opposite hill to Buchlov Castle, there is an early baroque chapel of St. Barbara, locally called Barborka. It was built at the end of the 17th century and served as an ancestral tomb for the owners of the Buchlov estate.

Buchlovice
The Buchlovice Chateau, one of the most important Baroque noble settlements in the Czech Republic, lies not far from the majestic Buchlov Castle. It is said that the owner of the estate, Jan Dětřich of Petřvald, started to build the castle as a gallant gift to his wife Agnes Eleonora of the Italian Collon family, who thought the Buchlov Castle was too cold. The castle is built in the style of Italian Baroque, according to the project of Domenico Martinelli and it is one of the most beautiful complexes of its kind in our country.

Cimburk
The ruins of a Gothic castle are located on a hill above the water reservoir about 5 km from the village Koryčany.
Since the beginning of the 18th century, the castle was deserted, gradually began to deteriorate and people tried to rescue it in the thirties and fifties of the twentieth century. Now the civic association Polypeje takes care of the castle. From Cimburk Castle there is a beautiful view of the Chřiby panorama.

ST. KLIMENT HILLFORT
Also known as the mountain of St. Kliment (the local name is Klimentek) is a pilgrimage site and an important archaeological site that is associated with the Cyrillo-Methodian tradition. It is located in a well- accessible location, 4 km from the village Osvětimany.

ARCHEOLOGICAL HERRITAGE VILLAGE MODRÁ
Not far from Uherské Hradiště, on the road from Old Town to Velehrad, you can find the Great Moravian settlement of Pomoraví – Archeological Herritage Village Modrá. The open-air museum lives in everyday life, teaching shows, programs, experimental melting of metals, ceramics production, agricultural production, and ongoing archaeological research. WATER TUNNEL MODRÁ
In Modrá at Velehrad, you can also visit the largest freshwater glass tunnel in the countryside in Europe, which takes you below the pond. Around you, by a glass wall, you will see life in the creek, in a large pool of cool-blooded fish or under the surface of a wetland.

Velehrad
is a village located between the ridges of the Chřiby, 7 km from Uherské Hradiště, in one of the most picturesque parts of the Moravian Slovakia region. You will find here the oldest cistercian abbey in Moravia. Since 1890, the place has belonged to the Jesuits and it’s been a target of the National Pilgrimage at Velehrad, which takes place on the occasion of the feast of Cyril and Methodius on 5 July.

OBSERVATION TOWER BRDO
The highest point of Chřiby is Brdo (586.7 m). In 2004, the highest stone observation tower in Moravia was opened here, from which you can see Roháče, Malá Fatra, Jeseníky Mountains and, of course, the Beskydy Mountains, the Vsetín Hills and the Little or White Carpathians.
OPEN AIR MUSEUM STRÁŽNICE
The museum of the Southeast Moravian village in Strážnice is a museum in the countryside, where the sites of Moravian Kopanice, Luhačovice, Zálesí, Horňácko, water structures, vineyards and meadow economy are accessible to visitors. During the year, the season is enriched with several thematic programs where the visitors can get acquainted with traditional folk crafts and folk customs during the calendar year.

BAŤA CANAL
Baťa canal is a historic waterway built between 1934-1938, which connected Otrokovice with Rohatec. Currently, almost the entire 52 km long waterway was reconstructed and both regular and tourist water transport between Otrokovice and Petrov or Skalice (Slovakia) are possible. Tourists can use the services of 8 ports and 16 docks, many rentals of boats and houseboats.

KROMĚŘÍŽ CASTLE
The Archbishop’s Chateau in Kroměříž is one of the foremost cultural and historical monuments in Moravia and the main attraction of visitors to the historical complex, which, together with its gardens, was registered in 1998 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

ZOO Lešná
ZOO Lešná in Zlín has almost 48 hectares of exhibit areas and has about 200 species of animals. Garden exhibits are very sensitively placed to the historic chateau park, where more than 1140 tree species and ornamental herbs grow. The area is divided into zoo-geographic areas, so its visitors can recognize the typical and most famous animal representatives of four continents – Africa, Asia, Australia and South America. Enclosures imitate the original homeland of the reared animals as closely as possible.
